Based in our workshop on the fringe of the Peak District, our contemporary rustic furniture is hand built by Chris, an artisan craftsman.
We have a wide range of stools, side tables and benches, some of which are racked to provide storage (for wine, shoes, books, towels etc.). Though we fashion pairs of benches and side tables, no two items are identical.
Our stunning refectory tables are crafted to seat six, eight or ten places.
For longevity, we only work with hardwoods, such as Chestnut, Elm, Walnut and (sourced from the Wyre Forest) English Oak.
Individual pieces are chosen at the sawmill for their shape, live edges and interesting natural features.
We are happy to work on commissions and create something specifically to your taste. Just ask!
Currently working on the reproduction of a medieval cloister table (the original, late Middle Ages example can be found in the Medingen Abbey in Lower Saxony).
Design and functionality go hand in hand in each piece we create.
We use several designs for our benches, tables and stools.
Benches come with or without storage and our tables, can be rustic or Medieval in style.
Each individual project is led by the wood; its dimensions, features and character will be the main consideration in designing the piece of furniture.
